K. So we had our bags packed, truck packed, camping gear, and food packed and time on our hands...approximately 6 days of ridiculous fun. Our plan was to go to the Grand Canyon, but the morning we were leaving, we double checked the i-net weather and their were rainstorms every single flippin day. So, we quickly changed our plans and decided that we really wanted to go to Yosemite, California. We were so excited and we jumped in the truck, bought some sunflower seeds and cold drinks and headed out of town...
Oh. I bought suckers too. As we were passing through Nevada, Dave and Criff thought it would be fun to stop by Lake Tahoe and just check it out and take a few pictures. As we got closer and closer...we were in love with this place. The pine trees, the beautiful lake, the singing birds and the fresh air of the outdoors! So we took some pictures and then said to eachother how fun it would be to camp there! Plus we were tired of driving!
We all fell into the peer pressure of our peers and found a campspot at the glorious Lake Tahoe!!! When we finally found a site that wasn't booked, we set up camp!!! I loved where we camped because their were running showers, toilets, and a lake really closeby. Dave was hoping to camp further away from other people and I think he was hoping to see some wild bears. But we all know I would not let this happen to us. It was not going to turn into a "Thomas Family Vacation" is what I call Dave's family and their vacations. It seems like something crazy or "a fond memory" always seems to happen and I wasn't going to be part of that on this trip, at least!
See that pink bag on the top of everything in the back of the Tacoma? Well, that is my bag and I thought it was going to be gone by the time we got their, but I was continually reminded that it was tied down and safe and nothing bad would happen to it. It made it safe.
Our campsot and our final destination! I'm so glad we stayed at Lake Tahoe for this trip! We had the best time ever and I'll go back anytime! Maybe on our next trip, we will make it past Lake Tahoe. Just maybe.
I've included a ton of pictures on my blog of this trip because I've decided this is kind of like my journal/ scrapbook/ and a fun way to keep in touch. We'll, actually Danielle said that and I said slug bug no touchies...so there.

Rye Patch Reservoir in Lovelock, Nevada
This is at Rye Patch Reservoir just located 22 miles north of Lovelock Nevada just off I-80. It is approximately 11,000 acres when full. (Crazy)...this reservoir is awesome! I just looked up the town it was in because we felt like it was in the middle of nowhere!! It helps to ask the locals where a good place to camp is...

Truckee River
This swimming suit makes me laugh a little, but I loved it! I don't know if I should call it a swimming suit. Maybe a flotation device. It is so perfect for lakes and boats. Cass absolutely loved it. Oregon coast, here we come!!!
Daniela, this picture is a tribute to you. Cass wanted to do a "Danielle pose". Look what you've done to her!!!
Water fights on the Truckee River...so fun!

More pics from Tahoe
This island in the background was so beautiful...we wanted to float out to it so bad but it was quite the hike to get to shore.
When Cass tells me to take a picture, i need to take advantage of the situation! Just like good ole Brandon says...take advantage!!!
Here are our future "engineers" tieing down our float boats...it was like we were driving a sailboat...we almost blew off the road! I'm teasing. Not really.
Getting the boats ready to go catch some fish...
Dave got this headlamp for Cass and she loved wearing it at night and staring at you right in the face and blinding you...good times.

Relaxing in the big yellow boat- Tahoe 08
Here is my little purple people eater...she lived in this flotation/swimming suit device the whole time we were in Tahoe...she would have slept in it if I let her.
Nevada Beach was relaxing...hot sun...cold drinks...and good company...
Dave says that this boat will keep him content for a little while... I hope it lasts us another trip!
Chrif didn't want to share the big family yellow boat with us, so he bought his own little bachelor boat. We adults just like to relax in the sun sometimes and Cassidy wasn't having it, so she spent most of her time being the motor and kicking her legs behind us. Let's just say she slept really good that night!
This is pretty much the view of Cass we saw the whole trip, we told her the only way she can have marshmallows around the campfire was if she kicked us to shore.
Do you really think we would do such a thing? She loved it! She's our little fish.

Cooking and Relaxing-Tahoe 08
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM......Bacon.......
Check out this cool pan I made to cook our bacon on! Completely homemade. I was pretty proud of myself.
I like to go camping because Dave does most of the cooking. He's a fabulous cook! I'm kind of scared of the gas stove. I still don't know how to turn it on and off...how embarassing!
Campfires are the ultimate relaxation ever invented. I love to sit and stare at the fire and talk and eat marshmallows. What is camping without a fire? Like I said....relaxation! It's the best!

Tahoe Summer 08
Bathing Beauty...
The water was ccccoolllddddddd!!!
Dave said that I looked like I was wearing a wig in this picture... what do you think? I was running back to the truck with Cass and he was staring at me funny and I thought he was looking at me like I was cute or something and then when I got in the truck, he says, you look funny, you look like your wearing a wig. I felt sad inside.
Have you ever introduced a new game to someone and then wish you never did? UNO Cass loves UNO...we played it so many times in the truck and by the campfire! Thanks Uncle Criff for playing UNO so many times...
Criff and the famous poker stick...we used this for every thing...thanks for the investment Criff...
